Bookings can be made via:
Website or directly via email
Bookings made through our website or directly through email receive a 10% discount from the total price. For bookings that are over £175, we may ask for the first night to be paid in advance (if it’s over £300, the first 2 nights) as a deposit. Additionally, on all bookings a service fee of GBP 1.50 will be charged to ensure the credit card is valid.
Reservations made on booking.com are non-refundable and the total price of the reservation will be charged at any given time. Bookings can be made using the ‘flexible’ option, the whole amount will be pre-charged however you can cancel for free up to 7 days prior to arrival.

Please note we cannot accept hostel bookings made over the phone.
Cancellations and Refund Policy:
Terms and conditions of cancellation depend on which booking engine you used to make the reservation. For non-refundable bookings, if a cancellation is made we will charge the full amount of the stay with NO refund. For deposit only bookings or ‘flexible bookings’ cancellations and modifications are allowed up to 7 days prior arrival without any extra costs. You can do this at any time using the same booking engine. If you cancel within 7 days, the whole amount will be charged.
A refund can be provided before the stay only in genuine extenuating circumstances or force majeure. A refund may be provided during or after the stay providing the hostel was at fault and the problem could not have been solved on the spot during the time of the complaint.
In case of a “no show” (that is you booked, didn’t cancel but didn’t show up) we’ll charge the total amount of the whole stay on your card.
Age & Identification Restriction Policy:
On arrival, all guests must provide the hostel with a valid passport or, drivers licence or other form of photo identification (must have the guests date of birth).
All guests staying at the hostel under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal parent or guardian (must be over the age of 25).
Under no circumstances is anyone under the age of 18 permitted to stay in a shared dorm with other travellers. Bookings under qualifying circumstances must book a private room to ensure maximum safety and easy supervision of children under age.
Anyone under the age of 18 will be asked to leave the downstairs Bar after 8pm.
If you booked before reading our age restriction policy and are coming with a person under the age of 18, please email email@example.com as soon as possible and inform us of the situation.
We reserve the right to cancel any reservation that fails to comply with our Age Restriction Policy, at any time.
Unlike some hostels we do not have an upper-age limit. Most of our guests are backpackers in the 18 to age to 30. Please be aware that you may be assigned to a top bunk and that we do not have elevators.
Arrivals and Departures:
Check-in is available from the reception area which is located at the far end of the bar. We do require some form of valid photo identification to be presented upon check-in. These include valid Passports, National Identification Cards (ID) or Driving Licenses. If the guest can not provide a valid form of photo identification, the staff at The Horse and Stables has the right to refuse check-in.
Staff also reserve the right to decline check-in and cancel reservations in full if during the check-in process the guest seems in any form intoxicated, aggressive or otherwise unfit from a general health and safety perspective. This is entirely up to the staff at The Horse and Stables to decide.
All guests' rooms will be ready for check in after 2pm each day.
Breakfast is served from 8am - 10am and the bar is open to the public anytime after that. You're welcome to join us in the bar or drop off your luggage and start exploring London, there's no charge.
If you arrive during breakfast hours, just give a knock on the window. Alternatively you can contact us via phone (+44) 20 7928 6277.
After 23:00 a member of staff is on night duty. To contact them you can simply ring the doorbell located on the red hostel side door, or call the after hours phone-number on (+44) 7787 06522.
Please note: though we do have a duty manager for early/late check-ins and emergencies, between 23:00 and 8:00, the reception area is only open during the bar opening hours (8:00 - 23:00).
Check-out is at 11am the morning of departure.
Departing guests must remove all their belongings from the room and check-out before the designated time. In the event of a late check-out, you will be asked to pay for an extra night.
[Hostel Reservation for 6 people or over.]
You will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit of the 1st night of your stay when making the booking via email. If you make the booking through Booking.com, you will be charged the total price in advance.
If your group is arriving by coach, make sure to contact us for information on where to stop and park.
If we are not informed by email, when the booking is being made, it cannot be guaranteed all group members will be placed in the same dorm room.
All group members must agree to respect house rules. We will need the credit card details of at least two group members. This is to cover any possible damages that may be caused to the property of The Horse and Stables.
If there is a group member under the age of 18, the whole dorm room will need to be booked.
Hostel Rules & Guest Behaviour:
The comfort, safety and security of our guests is of paramount importance to us here at The Horse and Stables Hostel. Any guest(s) who, in the opinion of our staff, compromise the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or local residents will be requested to leave the hostel premises and will not be offered a refund.
Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff, local residents and property. In the case of groups, the group leaders must ensure that all members of their group behave in an acceptable manner. Failure for any individual group member to do so will result in the expulsion of the whole group.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere within The Horse and Stables premises. Any guest found smoking within the building will be asked to leave the premises immediately and will not be offered a refund. A smoking area and ashtrays are provided outside the bar for guests who smoke.
Alcohol is served in the downstairs bar and must be consumed in the bar. Under no circumstances may guests consume their own alcoholic beverages in the hostel or bar at any time. Any guests under the age of 18 found consuming alcoholic beverages will be escorted from the premises and will not be offered a refund.
It is illegal to possess/use/sell hallucinogen drugs in the United Kingdom
We are therefore obliged by UK Law to report to MET police anyone to be found/seen/suspected of carrying/using/selling or just simply being under the influence of illegal substances. You will also be expelled from the hostel without a refund. This isn’t Holland, please respect British law while in London at all times.
Guests may use our staff-operated luggage room & security storage facilities free of charge, for valuables such as laptops, tablets, smart phones, passports etc… You can use this service by handing in your valuables at the bar, we’ll provide you with an item number for it (in a cloak room like manner) and store your items in a safe area only accessible by the staff. You can collect your valuables during opening house with the ticket you were given.
PLEASE NOTE it remains the guests’ responsibility to ensure that their personal belongings are secure at all times.
The Horse and Stables accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage to your property however sustained or caused.
Left or Lost Baggage or Items
The Horse and Stables is not responsible for any belongings left or lost by guests both in the bar or the hostel. The Horse and Stables may, upon discretion, hold belongings left behind by guests for NO MORE than 3 months, or 90 days. Guests who have lost or forgotten belongings may contact firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire about their items within this period however The Horse and Stables cannot guarantee the return of any lost
items, as they are not, nor have ever been our responsibility.
Properties of The Horse and Stables
You may be held responsible to pay compensation for any damages done by you to the building, furniture and other assets that are the properties of The Horse and Stables Hostel.
Except in relation to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, liability of The Horse and Stables Hostel remains, at all times, limited to the value of the services booked, excluding any amendment charges paid to us.
We only store and use information you supply to us, or which is supplied to us for the purposes of carrying out our contract with you.
Errors and Omissions
Any omission or error in sales literature, web pages or sites, order forms, quotations, price lists, order acknowledgments, dispatch notes, invoices or other documents issued by us may be corrected by us without liability.
We will advise you of any changes at any time of the booking or as soon as it is reasonable possible thereafter.
All bookings are subject to availability and The Horse and Stables Hostel reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
All guests are advised that The Horse and Stables Hostel is a 3 storey building without elevator facilities, or handicapped access - beyond the ground bar floor. Guests with limited mobility are advised to contact the management at The Horse and Stables Hostel before considering booking.
